Hacking R4DS Theme trouble

Ok. I have the r4, firmware version 1.16. I download 12 themes on the internet that are all 253*192 and the bckgrd, icons and logos are in each folder that they are suppose to be in. theme01-theme12 and for some reason, i still have the beta screen theme. Everything is perfectly in place. Any suggestions?

Did you press select at the main screen? (3 buttons screen, game, media, slot-2)

This might sound dumb, but did you put the files and folders in a folder named themes in the system folder?

ok. Yes, i do have the themes folder in the _system_ folder and yes the themes are all in the folders theme01-theme12, and no i did not change anything except the size. I heard that they need to be 253*192 in order to work. I press select on the title screen and nothing. Nothing happens. Help?

its 256x192 not 253 and they need to be .bmp

Where did you get the skins from? You shouldn't have to alter anything if they were made for the R4. Try using this http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=51679&hl=skinr4

You can use the app to browse rar/zip/7z and unpacked R4 skins. If they don't show up in the preview window then there's something wrong with the skin files. If they do show up you can use it to apply the skin to the MicroSD card and it show up ok then.

They seem to work fine with other people.

If you got them from NDSThemes you shouldn't have to do anything to the files. Have you tried copying them to the card without resizing them?

I don't think of it as "skipping", I think of it as being lazy and not reading.
