Hacking R4DS Spring Going In Too Deep

Hi! I recently bought a CycloDS so now my R4 is obsolete, but still I'd love to keep it in good condition. The R4DS spring recently broke and today I decided to take it out. The problem is that now when I insert my SD card, it goes in a bit too deep. It's still readable but I've heard of some kind of paper trick to prevent that where you insert a slit of paper. Am I ill informed? And if not, how would I go about doing it?

I suggest you throw away your R4, or it might brick your DS.
Read this topic, the guy's R4 spring broke (surprise surprise), he took it out, and boom. 2 DS Lites down the drain.
