Hacking R4DS HELP NEEDED

I have just bought the r4 and have loaded a few games on the card. When I try to play any of them on the DS it comes up with"this types of files currently not allowed to operate". I'm a novice at this..have I done my money? Can anyone help me please?

Sounds like you didn't extract the files first. No flashcart can run DS games that are zipped, RARed, etc. Extract the .nds files and put those on the memory card.

I did decompress files using win rar. This is very frustrating! Any more help would be appreciated

Did the file you added to the R4 look like "gamename.nds"? The file MUST be a .nds file to work.

This may be a silly question, but did you put the firmware for the R4 on the card first?

Try pressing the select button a few time to see if anything happens

That error only comes up when you're trying to run a file that isn't a DS rom.

If the roms has no .nds at the end, add one

I dowloaded 1.18 from the r4ds site. I'm guessing this is firmware? Sorry i'm a novice at this!

Anyway, yes, that's the firmware. You extract the files, and put it on the root of the micro sd.

Then put the games on.
