Hacking R4 Timebomb

Well, as long as you kept the kernel up to date (and they kept releasing updates) then you wouldn't run into the timebomb. It only becomes an issue if the team stops supporting the cart either because they want you to buy a newer cart or because they've disappeared.

Honestly dont think i can use YSMenu as a primary load. the guide you posted @Lilith Valentine .

I just get a white screen with a red "MENU?" im able to load it as a dual boot, but that wont work once it timebombs...

A quick google search found me the r4 dat file i needed and it boots up. so looks like im good

Try these files with retro's files. I can confirm that this launcher works on all of my R4i-SDHC carts.

Thanks, but I already got it working, the original thread didn't have the primary r4.dat file, but I found it doing a Google search

I know there was an issue with some carts after 2014. I will have to hit up Retro on that so the next release contains the right files.

When I did the Google search it brought me to a direct link from retros file.
