I recently got a Nintendo DSi (1.4.2 firmware). After some uploading of games, moonshell and stuff when i turned on the DS and tried to open the r4 card it showed me a message "An error has occured. Press and hold the power button to turn the system off" on a black background. I tried to google it and it says that if you update the DS then the r4 card gets blocked. But since I ahven't updated anything I am wondering what the problem may be?

Sounds to me like a contact issue. Try to clean the contacts.
