Hacking R4 SDHC not working

When I insert the R4 SDHC card in my DSI (v1.42E) I get the message:
An error has occured. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off.
Please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details.

Is the card dead?
Can I fix this some way?
I have tried to load the latest kernel through: "http://www.r4i-sdhc.com" without luck...

Any help is appreciated!
