Hacking R4 questions and so on... HELP?

Hi... um.. I have a question about the r4 that im trying to get ...

http://www.r4ds-dsi.co.uk/r4-ds-for-nintendo-ds-ds-lite_p339.html its that one, frstly o.o will it be able to run games because the description says nothing about that and the second question I have is like... um.. my ds is kinda messed, it works fine, but the start menu wont load up or anything, you have to hold start select for it to run, I searched it up, apparently its something to do with the bios I used a datel card before but it messed it up , but anyway, will I be able to like play games with the r4 even though my ninendo boot screen and logo don't come up

Congrats. You have an original R4! What firmware are you using, and what DS are you using?

I've never heard of having to hold start/select to make DS menus appear.

Edit: How did you mess up the Datel card?

Maybe he activated Automatic Boot in the system settings.
