Reason why: You aren't updating the fucking loaders...you know, the stuff that actually load the game? Yeah, I thought not, especially after seeing so many people actually believing that updating languages and default save sizes is really going to do shit.

Just a little note, I'm one of the people that know what most of Taiju Yamada's (aka Xenon++) stuff do, so yeah I know what I'm talking about. And if you don't know who he is, he is the guy who created the original pack.

Right, i have some progress.

I formatted the sd card and just did a google search for r4 firmware, i was going to try everyone until i made progress.

Pokemon soul silver and heart gold run, but black or white don't (patched or unpatched). If it helps i'm using sweetnds version

which gives me load rom errcode=4

I get a loading then double black screen on that firmware.

I tried that but when loading rom it gives me white screen, when dual booting with ttmenu i get dual white screen with 9 sqaures in bottom left of bottom screen flashing and nothing else

Did you maybe try to rename RetroGameFan Multi Cart Update v6.56 "SDHC" DEFAULT.nds too R4_PANDORA.NDS
