It probably could be done in the future somehow. But it's entirely not worth the trouble to try.

I suppose it would be nice if the flash cards on the DSi could do it, but I don't see the R4 doing it ever.

No one has the right to call ANYONE an idiot just like that... without proper reason.

I've stated already that IT IS POSSIBLE, not IT WORKS IT WORKS IT WORKS!!!

So shut up all those no brainers shouting out 'n00b it cant'.

Most people are laughed upon when they try something new.
If those people gave up, we wouldn't have electricity and a ton of other things.

So, if we had a genius to light our way I'm sure it could be done.

That's all I'm saying. I ain't claiming it works at the present time...

I'm saying it could be done in the future.

Idiot. lol

Also, Do you think if you write in a bigger text more people will notice? Cause if thats how your thinking then....
IDIOT. NO, IT WONT WORK WITH THE CARDS THAT ARE AROUND NOW WITHOUT SLOT 2

The point is, the R4 cards right now cant do it on themself, Sure maybe when the people who makes the cards start copying the SUPERCARD DSi TWO then its possible, but with the cards out now, its impossible they dont have the required hardware, resulting in needing Slot 2 "support".
I am AWARE that you said that Not now but sometime in the future. But the problem with the cards now ISNT the software, its the hardware, a new card has to be created in order for this to be possible, cause the ones right now dont have enough.... RAM? i believe, Where as the Slot 2 does, It IS extremely POSSIBLE that this can be achieved in the future WITH the creation of a NEW CARD, not using the older ones that we all have now.

Stole an idea from mthrnite

Look at me, I can type in big fonts too!

We're all sick and tired of these discussions, its something thats been discussed for over 2 years. Give it a rest. It's NOT possible, the DS while in 'DS' mode just ISN'T POWERFUL ENOUGH to emulate a GBA. Something like an iPlayer and the soon to come Supercard DS2 can because they have extra RAM and such.

Just let this matter DIE already.

OMG U GUISE!!!!!
I GOTS GBA GAEMS WERKIN ON MY R4!!!!! HERS WAT U DO:
1 PUT GBA GAEM IN TEH BOTOM SLOT
2 PRES POWER BUTON
3 LET DS BOOT UP
4 PRES BUTON FOR SLOT2
5 GAEM WIL PLAY!!!!!

IT WERKS! IT WERKS!! IT WERKS!!!!!

xD I found that post to be one of the most amusing. I'm fairly certain that if there were a "genius to light the way" that genius would have already done it o.0...Just look at how many people work on this kind of stuff and come up with spectacular things (they are all pretty genius to me xD).

Well... the R4 Cannot Run GBA Games Without Slot-2 Flash Card
im not saying you're an idiot or something like the others pepole here
becase half from the pepole reply here want and really LIKE that R4 Will load GBA Roms
but really even if he cant always you can run GB\GBC Roms without any Slot-2...

Well, I saw an old topic about the R4 playing GBA ROMs.
Many people were saying 'no, it's impossible' or 'you n00b everyone knows you cant'.

Someone even posted this:

In actual fact, the R4 is capable of playing .GBA Files.

The thing is though, no one has bothered making some firmware that can, indeed load GBA games.
Or maybe something that will convert GBA ROMs to NDS ROMs (obviously using only one screen).

So, it is possible. All we need is an expert to come and lift this project.
If there is anyone out there who wants to take this challenge, go ahead.
We'll cheer you on.

Well you know what?

Unless you have a video of this happening, don't bother trying to tell us it's possible.
