Hacking R4 on 3DS: Game creates new save file every time I launch it

I have a Pokemon Black 2 ROM on my R4, works great and I can load my saves fine, but every time I open it, it creates a new save file. None of my other games show such behaviors. I have tried to figure out which file actually holds the save data by importing each into an emulator on my computer, but none of them appear to contain anything, as it does not give me the "continue" option in-game. All of these files are in the same directory and have the same name; how this is possible, I am unsure.
Hence, is there a way that I can stop it from doing this and pinpoint the file that saves all of the data (for back-up purposes)?
I am using the R4 Gold Pro with the latest (as far as I know) software for it.

The problem is u bought a shitty clone with shitty Rom compatablity get the proper one and that will never happen again
