Hacking R4 DS Essentials?

I just bought a R4 and an EZ Flash 3-in-1 and am currently waiting for it to arrive what are some essential programs/downloads/homebrew that I should get.

Well there are these supposedEssential games that you may want to 'back up' so to speak, as well as this List of homebrew which you can pick what you like from.

Your essential list consists of the games and homebrew that you want. Depends on what genre you like. But the essentials lists are a good place to get started.
