Gaming R∞m Canceled

When Sony introduced the PSPgo in Japan they showed off Room. The service was supposed to be in the spirit of a PlayStation Home away from your home. Room is a community based platform with 3D avatars. A closed beta went live last year and now… Room is locked away in some abandoned IP closet at Sony.



Sony Computer Entertainment Japan thanked participants for their feedback and announced development on Room has been halted. Sorry, if you were looking forward to another virtual space.

Aw man it wouldve been so cool but at the rate we are going we wouldnt have gotten a CFW for 6.XX anyways so we couldnt use it anyways

That's a shame because it looked nice. I'm a sucker for cute 3D avatars in a pseudo MMO/chatroom type environment.

Too bad it was only for the PSP Go.

As I recall it was for all PSPs, and dang, I totally forgot about it hahaha. Pretty sad, but saying one thing and doing another is the norm now. Either that or the internets are just getting better at scrutinizing what company reps are say.
