Its a one size fits all system menu IOS, it will prevent bricking from accidental downgrade of an lu64+ wii, or from accidental upgrade of a poorly region changed originally Korean wii (003 brick). It also protects from installing a different system menu version while missing its corresponding system menu IOS. None of this is 100% fool proof though, if someone is determined to brick themselves nothing can stop it, lol, but this will help prevent some bricks against potential future user error

Hello again. I hope it´s okay to ask for some more help. I updated my Wii´s Homebrew Channel to 1.1.2 and now Priiloader doesn´t find it anymore. Any ideas?

Edit:
Also Bootmii can´t access the HBC anymore.
But from the system menu i can access HBC and apps.
Would it be a good idea at this point to rehack my Wii with Modmii?

So I used Modmii to refresh HBC, Bootmii and the CIOSes but on this way something broke Priiloader more than before. After launching Priiloader installer it terminates itself after a few seconds.
And as unfortunate as it can be somwhen in the ten years from when I first modded my Wii I`ve lost my nandbackup.

I suspect you have a custom system menu version # installed which is preventing the priiloader installer from running.

Btw, ModMii won't have u install a system menu with a modified version number. So if this is the case, it's a carry forward problem from whatever other guide u followed in the past.

To confirm, please post a syscheck
https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

If you do have a system menu installed with v65535 you will need to install a stock system menu. Yawmm will not work as it won't allow u to install a system menu for a different region, and the custom version number is preventing it from detecting your current region.

4.1X, I've never seen that before. But yeah I was right, see your system menu version number is 65535? Anyway, you want to install a stock 4.1E system menu wad using MMM or wiimodlite, then reinstall priiloader as it will have been removed.

You can grab the system menu wad from ModMii classic's download page 1, and mmm from download page 2. If you need your hand held with a wizard, you can use modmii's region change wizard to "change" to 4.1E

Many thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Edit: I accidentally copied the wrong sysCheck.csv. I corrected my previous post.

Everything looks good. You have a few extra cios's installed than necessary, but that won't interfere with anything, your softmods look good

Hi everyone!

I've recently got a Wii, installed a bunch of emulators (Mame2003, Retroarch, SDLMame). Some games works, but I'm having a very difficult time with a basketball game called "Run and Gun". It won't start anywhere, I always get a black screen and then back to the menu. I've read that it's compatible with some core "E" for the mame, but even that won't work, or maybe I've configured things wrong. Anyone that can help ? Thanks.

Does anyone have recommendations for a cheap, compact HDD for the wii? Anything over 150gb will do fine, I found a couple on amazon that seemed promising but I want to make sure I go with something well established. I looked at the USB devices compatibility list and it did not cover a lot of my most attractive options unfortunately. Thanks!!

Hello,

in general Western Digital works well with the wii (1TB, 2TB).

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
