Have you checked if your Wii supports backup disks? Type your serial number here http://www.wiidrives.com/identify. Maybe try another backup loader?

It says: * There is a 75% chance the chipset is Combined GC2-D3 with no drive chip.
* And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.

(btw, the point here is Gamecube, not Wii.)

Yes, but if you can't run backups, you can't run gamecube disks, and you can't run gamecube backups from USB. If it is the D3 backups will work, if it is the D3-2 they won't work.

Yes, but if you can't run backups, you can't run gamecube disks, and you can't run gamecube backups from USB. If it is the D3 backups will work, if it is the D3-2 they won't work.

So, in short, GameCube backups are impossible on my Wii. WONDERFUL.

Not quite sure what Swiss is, but if it doesn't need the Disk slot it will probably work.

Me again; ran the USB Loader GX installer... and I'm stuck. The HBC isn't recognising it...

GX is fail. Switch to Configurable USB Loader. I don't know if you are trying to run the loader off your HDD, but you need to either format your drive as FAT32 (in which case the HBC still might not recognize it, but a forwarder should) or put the app folder on an SD card. I recommend the latter, since the HBC will definitely detect it, and the loading time should be faster (depends on the speed of the SD card of course).

Are you running it from the SD card? Also, did you make sure to copy the usb-loader folder? You can't merge it with the GX one without causing problems.
