Why does the console require emulating GBA games when the 3DS includes DS hardware, and the DS includes GBA hardware?

    my dad works for nintendo.
i guess cuz not all nds hardware (the gba part) get into the 3ds...
some features must be dropped and compatibility is lost to make new things..

But, the GBA part (ARM7) is used in NDS games, so it has to be there. It's possible they don't include support for changing the clock speed, but, that takes a couple transistors and ~100 bytes bigger firmware filesize. It would've actually been cheaper to include it than to redo the engineering to take it out.

the firmware is actually still in the 3ds, the ambassador gba games use it (AGB_FIRM) and i thought just a part was emulated..
    if i am not mistaken..
anyway this is a good question...
i guess that since they didn't include the gba slot they just didnt had much work implementing the stuff..

the DS didn't played gb\c games.. as it didn't the gba micro :(
