SOLVED :)

--------------

Hello from Maine USA.

OK I've got a fat Xbox 360. I think it's the last run before they got slim. Here is my console's information :

--------------

"Jasper: 2008 - 2010 150w power supply"
Jasper V2, MFR 2009-10-12
2.0.14719.0
"Metro dash"
Drive info = Philips Lite-on DG-16D2S

-------------

My first question is, can I mod my 360 using this super cheap method ?

If so, I only need to buy a toggle switch and a sata card :

Can't link, see eBay item number 232167486925

Thanks :)
Craig

We recently modded a Wii, it's a hoot with the Homebrew channel, Nintendon't, and UsbloaderGX. We like playing Gamecube games on a Wii :)

For the newly acquired Xbox 360, I'd like to play backups at least, and preferably backups off of a hard drive. I also wonder if the 360 can run the Homebrew Channel, LOL.

Homebrew on a 360 is basically non existant.
Aside from some meh emulators and a few tools.
Besides, if you want that, you'll lose XBLive access and you'll have to solder in some hardware.
The solderpoints are tiny, so experience is needed.

If you want to run backups from a external HDD, you'll have to invest in an Xkey, which I recommend over drive flashing.

Yes, you can flash a Phatty with that method.
Download Jungleflasher.
It comes with a manual on how to flash it and extract the DVD key if you want to go for the Xkey option.
