So my friend has a current firmware (11.6.0) old 3ds XL and he wants to hack it. And he has oot. My questions are if I use the oot exploit with Power Saves Pro to enter the homebrew channel would I have to use that exploit everytime to launch the homebrew channel? Also, are there hombrew game loader apps that can run 3ds game roms, or is running 3ds roms exclusive
to CFW? Is it possible to obtain CFW with hombrew or do I need a flashcart?

Yes.

No, you need CFW to be able to run 3DS games.

Is it possible to obtain CFW with hombrew or do I need a flashcart?

No, you cannot obtain CFW merely using homebrew. There are only three ways to install CFW onto an 11.6 system:

• ntrboot method (requires a compatible and cheap DS flashcart, as well as a magnet)
• DSiWare transfer method (requires a second 3DS that already has CFW installed)
• Hardmod method (requires soldering)

The ntrboot method is highly recommended.
