Hacking Questions about a softmoded Wii

I just installed the Backup Launcher on my Wii v3.3E. It works as expected but I have a few questions:

1. If my Wii dies will Nintendo still fix if they see the Backup Launcher loaded? Anyone ever had problems with that situation?

2. Is there a point in upgrading to the latest 3.4 system update or even downgrading? Will my backup launcher stop working if its upgraded to 3.4? Are there any games that require or auto install 3.4?

3. Is there a recommended method for installing DVD movie support?

4. Most of the guides mention IOS16, 248, 247, 249. What are those?

1. try to uninstall you stuff and nintendo won't see it (system menu 3.2 w/ starfall)
2. Update to 3.4 to access the shop channel (or use the 23. okt fix)
i think there isn't a game which is need the system menu 3.4...no game need a special system menu i think.

3. you need dvdx, but dvdx won't run under 3.4

4. that are custom ios (cios)...ios16 is needed to downgrade from 3.4 to 3.2

But what if my Wii stops working meaning I'm unable to uninstall anything?

Is it possible to upgrade to 3.4 by other means, say via SD Card or DVD?

Because every electronic device has a chance to break. It happens with Wii too, right?

If your wii stops working nintendo will fix it - they may charge you 75 dollars since you have the loader installed.

None have broken on their own yet.
