Preface: I recently decided to try hacking splatoon 2 and got immediately banned for level hacking. Apparently the console ban applies globally since getting banned in splatoon America got me banned in splatoon JP. Essentially I went from level 39 to 50. I think the sudden jump in level and all the snails I got from Judd (for leveling up) flagged me.

I still have a copy of my “clean” save pre-level hacking. My question is...if I reinstall the prehacking save and then a transfer my accounts to a new switch will those have a high chance of getting banned as well? From my understanding splatoon only bans consoles and doesn’t tie it to the user account? If this is unadvised would transferring my non-hacked JP account be dangerous? If so, (last question, I swear) is my dlc gear on my JP account tied to my account. I wouldn’t mind starting over from rank 1 as long as I don’t lose my CoroCoro gear. I don’t think any copies of the magazine exist anymore.

The pre-hacked save data is tied to a user that was banned. That data should be irretrievable without hacking. There is no way to get that data to another console without using some homebrew or at the very least, setting off red flags.

To look at it another way, what is worth more to you; the time spent on the save file or the online functionality of the console?

Nintendo probably already blacklisted if not got rid of that splatoon account of yours. Your splatoon account with the save wont probably connect to there servers anymore and most likely you will just be setting yourself up for another ban if you try to force that account online.
