Hardware [Question] Replacing the Switch EMMC module

I looked through the forum and found some info but couldn't find a definitive answer to my question.
If I buy a replacement emmc for my Switch how can I format it or make it work? I'm asking this because from my understanding the emmc is encrypted by the console board.
