I just heard that Hyrule Warriors Legends (Japanese cartridge) can be played in English, my questions are:

1. Is it compatible with HANS?
2. If i load it with HANS does it have online capability?
3. If it does, any warning regarding bans?

I have a 10.3U N3DS

Would appreciate some more info on this, would be awesome to avoid having to buy the game again

There are CIAs floating around with an English patch already applied.

Hi! I'd like to know this went for you. I'm in the same boat as you - US N3DSXL and want to play the game. Were you able to load it through HANS? Is the C-stick usable with the game? Thanks.

Personally I've spoofed my 3ds's region as Japanese to allow the online connection component to work. In this instance I tried setting the region to Jap and language to Eng, but the game still launched with Japanese text.

So hans worked for me to use the online components, but it failed to force the language.
RX emunand on the other hand defaults the language to Eng, as my console is US, but the online component fails as it is checking for a Jap 3ds.

This is my experience with an unmodified Japanese dump of the game on an O3DS, your own results may differ as the most common rips for the game floating out there are modified.

Ahh.. Thank you for the response.

Hmm.. I'm currently on 10.5, so CFW is pretty much a no-go for me. What I plan is to buy the physical cartridge and play it through HANS. I'm not really particular about the online component, but it's disappointing that HANs cannot force the language to English.

Well launching it through hans as USA - Eng might work, but I don't imagine the online DLC download would allow you on.

--Just gave it a try, yeah it will boot to Eng through hans on an unmodified dump if your system is set to US region and the language is on Eng (probably works in Eur too I can check if you like).

-- Yeah, as I figured online features present an error code if you aren't being identified as a Jap console. So you can't have both.

That's great. At least I know that it'll at least boot in English. Thank you for trying it out.

Also by online you mean DLC right? I thought all DLC was included in the game at the outset?

The only online feature in this game I'm aware of is the "Downloadable content" tab. This tab has two options, Receive Presents or Download Again.

As I've mentioned attempting to Receive Presents drops an error code unless you are spoofing or are on a Jap 3DS.
If you are on or spoofing a Jap 3ds you'll download some stuff to SD card before it brings you to a page where you can enter a code.
I've looked around and found a video of someone using some Ganon windwaker outfit for the WiiU game on youtube, and tried that code since it was the same length.
Trying this code results in it prompting me that the code has already been redeemed.

So to the best of my knowledge the online DLC is for claiming special promotional gear and possibly future content they may implement.
