Hacking question about the G6 real USB adapter

i dont own a G6 real, so i cant test this myself. i just wanted to know what happens (if anything happens) when you put a retail cartridge in the USB adapter instead of the G6 real?

if i recall correctly, it shows up as an 'unknown device'. the adapter does the same thing if you plug it in by itself. sorry i can't check it for you right now (linux only here), but i'm pretty sure i'm right.

Too bad that the G6 Real adapter won't work with the N-Card or the clones. The write times for those carts are so slow, so it would be nice of the G6 adapter would speed them up.

Hopefully some smart homebrew programmer will make a hack for it in the future.

I have an m3 simply and g6 real and when I tried to put the simply in the real adapter it won't even fit, neither would my passcard 3.

Wow, my Passcard 3 fits, it just doesn't do anything. The USB linker shows up as a random device just like it would if there was no cart inserted. All other carts should fit, there is something wrong with your linker if they don't.

i was thinking it would be cool to put a retail cartridge in there and be able to back up the real gaves sav file

It would also be cool if you could actually back up your legitimately owned games as roms.

I plug mine into the pc and said unrecognized usb thing. guess the g6 just acts as a media card together with the usb adapter. Unless it works in some metaphysical chaos theory way because the moment I plugged it in, O.J. Simpson was caught... weird shit...
