expansion ram is used for games usually larger than 3mgs and those who use heavy graphics like Mortal Kombat 3.
i'm posting this to tell ppl that i found when your game is not loading, try disabling the sound, most of the time (if not always) your game will work but if u check back the sound it will usually freeze again.
and some games have problem with save states, mostly with loading from states, likewise i found that if u play MegaMan X normally (the SNES way, without Save/Load state) you can play most of it (atleast i havent encountered any crash yet) and also with True Lies, if u use passwords that game gives you, you will be able to enjoy ur game with sound effect AND enjoy more since u dont reside on lite cheating (is what i call save states).
i'm currently playing True Lies and MegaMan X with my SnemulDS, what are u favourites that are playable on it? (made a topic about this long time ago, maybe time to dust off it)
