Hacking question about renaming ROM's

Hi, Im usually a lurker but i cant find the answer to this question. and im really sorry if this has been asked elsewhere or if it seems like a really noobish question.

Im getting a M3DS Real soon and i was wondering if i was to rename a ROM, Lets say its Mario Kart DS and the original ROM name is "0168 - Mario Kart DS (U)(SCZ)(D47555BE)" If i rename the ROM to just "Mario Kart DS" would it still work with the cheat database? if this question has been posted before please direct me to it and im sorry for the extra post. But any help anyone could offer me would be greatly appreciated

yes it will work the same
I did that too all my roms

the cheat system just reads the rom number from inside the rom file
doesnt matter what it is named

Thanks, Thats what i figured it did but i didnt wanna go and rename all my files and then the cheat file not work or something. So thank you for your fast reply
