Ok is there a way to get a Action Replay type program that will run form the R4 Cart but work on the GBA slot?

so what i am asking is, is there a program i can use from my R4 with a GBA cart to hack my games???

He was asking for an Action Replay-like program for using AR/GameShark codes.
But still, there is no such thing. I wonder why, though.

To use AR (chaet), GBA image needs to be patched.
But GBA cart is ROM, so cannot be patched.

Why nitrohax works? Because DS main program is read to memory. Program on memory can be patched.

If you want to cheat but own a real GBA game, one option is to dump your save to your Slot 1 cart, emulate on PC to do the cheats you want, then transfer the save back to your GBA cart. I've done that myself for Pokemon Leaf Green and Advance Guardian Heroes.

You can't, the main reason is that before starting a gba game, the ds goes into "gba mode" In this mode all code in the RAM will be cleared, thus you can't load any custom code from a flashcart in slot-1 to slot-2. Simply put, your cheats are deleted from the ds'es memory before the game even starts.

As the Gameboy cartridge is a ROM (read only memory) chip, that the code is ran direct from, there is noway to insert on-the-fly patching. With a DS, the code is copied to RAM first, where it can be changed at will.

The only action replay devices that will work on a GB cartridge, will be the ones that go between the cartridge and the slot, like the old game genies on the NES.

The ONLY answer would be to buy a Gameshark (if you can still find one) and cheat the old fashioned way. I too am asking for a mod to lock this thread, this question is a dime a dozen and it's getting old.

nevermind, i thought you were talking about gba roms (.gba files) not cartridges.
