All ps4 are of the age where they need new thermal paste and dust blown off if never been opened. That would lower some noise, but a 4k hdr game will sound like a jet

All thermal paste dry out in 2-3 years, and factory paste is most likely the cheap kind
Opening it and changing the thermal paste with a good quality one helps a lot.

Not really, but if you are an idiot like me and just open the PS4 without looking up a video, you might tear the PSU cable like I did and then the repair got a bit more complicated...
You need to repaste before the ps4 dies. My pro needed a repaste bad. If you want to get into modding a ps4 you need to have at least a minimum understanding of software and hardware. Ive seen young kids on youtube repaste PS4's so its not hard. Cost of entry if you want a safe modded long lasting console.
You can totally do it and it's not hard if you follow a disassembly tutorial on youtube. Just don't be a smartass like me and let your confidence get the best of you. I have disassembled lots of consoles and PCs and assumed that it would be easy for me, so I skipped the video watching part. That's my fault. If you follow a guide, you have nothing to worry about - it really isn't hard at all.

Check out a youtube video on step by step and your good. Get good paste like Arctic MX2 or better. I repair many and most old ones have dried up paste and have very little life left.
No.. most video for PS4 jailbreak are outdated. GBATEMP have better tutorial and always update.

LOL - I was referring to video on PS4 teardown for repaste and cleanse. Plenty of youtube videos on PS4 jailbreak that are current BTW, some are miunutes old.
Video guide is mostly criticized for providing outdated methods and outdated pre-packed tools uploaded by the youtuber. This is true for some consoles like 3ds, wii u, switch and ps vita, but I'm pretty sure it's a different situation when it comes to PS4 jailbreak video guides. Since it's a browser exploit you don't need to download anything and the method has never changed, all you need to do is open web browser and run exploit. Same for other stuffs like installing pkg, using ftp and booting linux. Unless a new exploit method (like cfw) is found pretty sure you can still use a 5.05 video guide without any issue. BTW only use videos from a trusted source like Modded Warfare
