That should work I think, the hardware is the same it's just the serial that determines what region game cards it's allowed to read.

That's what I was thinking i mean I don't mind helping him out and finding out I figure the hardware is universal the key is what loads the codes for region but I'm not sure cause I'm not and expert in this at all :/

Thought so but some people make such a big ass deal about serial numbers if it was something like a battle net key where it's a one use I get it but something that they don't keep track of makes no sense for people to be up tight about it.
