So me and friend tried to downgrade his N3DSXL from 9.9 to 9.2.

Well, he got a partial downgrade and can get back to Sysupdater, what's the best course of action for fixing a partial?

He cannot update, and I'm thinking running Sysupdater again and trying to downgrade from Messed up 9.2 to 9.2 will be fine, is it right to assume this?

Indeed, you have to re-run sysupdater, to re-downgrade to 9.2! (So, yeah, don't update! XD)

If I'm not mistaken, just keep trying the downgrade process. There's a chance it could error but you got to keep trying
Thanks. I feel like this should be a lot more common knowledge.

However, after rerunning it, it fixed only 1 file, but downgrade check still says some files don't match?

Unfortunately from here I'm not sure where to offer advice, as I've never had that happen to me. I have read about it before but I forget if there was an answer provided to what I read

I will say though, it only fixing one file is normal, it just means that was the last file necessary to complete the downgrade. Just not sure about the other files not matching

With me (new 3ds), there were 5 files that not matching. But that's normal. You can solve this problem by using some old 3ds cia (but be careful, it cans break your 3ds), and remove the amiibo cia (that not exists on 9.2), but it's not an obligation.

Maybe you have downloaded an incomplete downgrade pack (like me XD).

Thank you! We figured out that the one file being fixed, actually fixed everything! He's setting up Emunand now, so the extra files are just unimportant for a functioning 9.2 3DS, because Emunand9 and FBI would fail to even launch, but now they do.

Thanks so much, again! All my questions are answered now. <3

That "one file being fixed" is actually the critical file that must be downgraded for exploiting. Which is NATIVE_FIRM.

I had a partial a long time ago with an old version of sysupdater. Took 4 hours of trouble shooting before I said "fuck it" and gave the downgrader another go.
Frankenware is fun~
