Hello I'm currently using a v1 switch with the RCM method but I'm thinking on upgrading to an oled version for better screen and battery and I know these consoles need a mod chip for that,I know there's like 3 mod chips available being picofly, hfly and Nx instinct but I noticed that some users say the chip need to be upgraded from time to time so my question is how you do that? You need to Open the console to do that?,do all the chips support official firmware? Do I need to update the chip when a new firmware gets dropped?

And also what's the best chip available?,is the kamikaze method recommend or depends if it gets installed well with doing kamikaze?

Thanks for the answers as since I use the old v1 model everything that needs to be done when an update gets released is waiting for atmosphere first and even when the console is almost on his life end cycle I think Nintendo is going to drop some updates even when switch 2 is available

For OLED, I would go with the kamikaze method, risky but reliable, and a Waveshare RP2040 chip, with Picofly firmware. It doesn't really need upgrades all that often (latest trusted from source is 2.75), but if needed, it can be upgraded afterward by booting the Picofly Toolbox payload.
