this is cool, it plays, well atleast a couple of minutes
But i think most people will say:
Make Quake 3 arena with Internet Play.
well i think it could be nice to have every quake on the wii exept Q4 ofcourse.
Make Quake 3 Arena with internet play.
It had to be done.
Honestly, I could care less about Quake 3. Anyone played QuakeLive? Its Quake3 with internet play, for free.
Quake 2? Now we're talking. This was, and still is, one of the best iD games ever made. The single-player experience was unlike anything before it, and I encourage everyone to give this a try once its complete. The multi-player had so many new factors and really took a long time to get 'stale'. If MP was added, it would be one of the best games on wii. Period.
Kudos to the coders for making this possible. I just love what's become of the Wii Homebrew scene.
@eddie_brock, i totally agree with everything you said.
Looking for another challenge? Pick the best of these Quake 2 Engine Derivatives to port over to the Wii, thus providing even better graphics for Quake 2.
Or even port "CodeRED: Alien Arena" and "War$oW" (both Q2 engine) to the Wii!
Yeah! I miss the spirally rail gun from Q2! ...and all the maps!
How do you make this work. No readmii or anything.
WEll i have the pak files awith the folder in root.Anybody got this to work?
@justinrocks123, put the "baseq2" folder to the root of your SD.
This won't load at all, could anyone give instructions?
I click to load the app, adn then returns me to HB channel
I copied the baseq2 folder from my Quake 2 CD to the root of SD but when I launch Q2REV it just sits there with that big black screen staring back at me and all I see is a reflection of my disappointed expression.....
Mee too you have an idee ?
Its Fake thats why lol..
I dunno try putting it along with the app folder.
Q2 -> and inside put the baseq2 folder.
Im gonna try now.
Explains exactly Intro baseq2 mini tutorial would be very nice thank you
But why? I play this on my DS!
you'd rather play it on a tiny screen with crappy sound than on a 60" plasma with a kick ass sound system?!
What's the status of this project? I can't wait to get playing it (again)
Just to update everyone, the Proof-of-Concept has been removed due to bugs. The author felt that it was too buggy for public consumption at this point. According to his blog on Wiibrew.org, it appears that he is indeed still working on it, however no further details have been offered.
I for one am more excited about this release than anything upcoming on Wii.
