Haha, again - if you pirate and I don't, it's pretty much saying that I have more cash than you - seeing as I'm able to save up and work for it. Pretty much makes me seem like a millionaire when compared to you.
e-peen thread confirmed

"You seem to see everything in black and white." if this were a Swedish forum i would have made a great joke here, however it just sounds racist when translated to English :/
I will be back.
For the record, I find it typical that a Sweed would worry about coming off as racist. :tpi:

thats somewhat true, however its still breaking the law.

If you had the possibility to clone whatever you want and you saw a Ferrari for example what would be the right thing to do?
A. Save up to buy one yourself.
B. Clone it and dont care about the hard work that went into creating the car.

Simply, if you cant afford it, don't do it! its that simple.

If I wanted a morality lesson, GBA Temp ain't the place to learn it.

How about people renting games instead of buying them or buying a used game? Would that be considered piracy since the money isn't going to the devs? That's why I don't believe money is the issue with piracy.

Wow, seems that almost everyone on GBATemp only cares about themselves. Very well - group of pirates.

That isn't the problem - the company renting the game out payed for the game, when you borrow them - you help pay the lender for the game. The money the lender earns, helps to buy other titles to rent out - and guess what that means? The money goes to the devs. Clearly you haven't thought it through hard enough.

Hey, I'm doing you a favor. ;)

F**k that, what about old games that are no longer being profited off of, that are on neither XBN, PSN or the eShop/Wii Shopping Channel? Yes, they're still copyrighted, yes, it's still illegal, but no one is losing money. Also, by definitely, piracy is the illegal distribution of digital copies, not theft; theft implicates that the item is stolen once and is gone forever. I'll be honest, I don't give a shit that I've downloaded games from companies that no longer make them, that have gone under and that haven't been sold in nearly two decades. I really don't care, who benefits from Super Nintendo games? Excluding ones sold on the Wii U, PS3, etc?

And I quote from Rydian on

Piracy is theft.
This is by far the most common myth. Piracy is not theft because it does not cause any direct damage or loss to the other party (in fact, whether there's another party at all is sometimes up for debate). Theft, on the other hand, is a criminal act because in committing an act of theft, you deprive somebody of something. If I go and take an old lady's purse, then due to my actions the old lady has been caused a loss, her purse. However, when pirating, nobody loses anything. The pirater gains a copy of some digital item, while the person/entity who originally created that item is completely unaffected by the act.

Does it make it more right that the games are no long being sold, no, but how many people on here or the internet, actually care enough to want to do something about it? If people are here to preach anti-piracy, fine, but don't shove it down my throat.

The titles that are no longer being profited off, that are hosted on services such as PSN, eShop etc are LEGAL because the hosts own the rights to them. People who buy games DO NOT get the right to the item, but only get the right to play it.

I don't give a damn about owning the right to the game vs the right to actually own a game. I don't care, I do what I do, you do know what this site used to be, right?

Well by word definition pirating is still Theft, if you had ∞ ballons and a kid stole one, you would still have ∞ left, but he still stole one.
by other word pirating downloading a digital medium illegally is theft. #Debunked
