Hi GBAtemp.

I've done some extensive research about this very issue, but no answer was found, so I thought I'd create a thread in search for answers.

I've installed quite a few of CIA games on my emuNAND, (legitimately acquired, obviously) such as Mario Kart 7, Mario Party: Island Tour and The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes. However, for some reason, when attempting to create a local game to use with Download Play, it just shows me an error, with no error code. Do any of you know a solution? This happens to me in Mario Kart 7 and TLoZ. Haven't tested Mario Party yet.

Thanks.

EDIT: I think it works in Mario Party, but I have no secondary 3DS to test it out, my pal just now left.

SECOND EDIT: I'm running emuNAND on the latest version. (10.3)

So if in my US 3DS I were to install an EU CIA game and try to set up a room for others to join me via Download Play, it wouldn't work?
From what I've heard, Download Play to other 3DSes should work, as long as the other 3DSes match the region of the game (yours can be of a different region to the game)
Though if you are using a cryptofixed or otherwise decrypted ROM then it probably wouldn't work.

Bummer. So what you're saying is, the games must be legit CIAs?

It has to be of same region (the CIA and your console) conneting with other same region console. Also I think Download Play checks the firmware version on both consoles (I might be wrong), but since one of your game works then the other games might be region patched to work on your console region.

Not exactly. I assume it just has to be converted from .3DS to .CIA or downloaded from CDN without having the game partitions decrypted. This is the way FunkyCIA2 does it by default, but in order to add region/firmware spoof the game has to be decrypted AFAIK. Though it wouldn't matter if the download play ROM is encrypted separately and sent over local wifi, which it might be as I haven't really looked into it.

Ah, alright. Thanks for the information.
