True, seems that even Microsoft and Apple along with most net providers are with them. If the bill's passed we might deal with some of the companies putting software on computers to allow the government easy access.

I'm actually praying one of these bills passes soon. There are countless blogs where people upload pirated content and GET PAID FOR IT. I'm not against piracy, I'm just against someone profiting from other people's work. These bills will make it much harder for them to do that, while those 'in the know' will be unaffected

A law like this does nothing, but hand over the keys of freedom to people who will abuse it. Sure they are aimed to stop illegal activities, but the wording can easily be used to spy on innocent people's private lives. Sure they may have nothing to hide, but that's still invasion of privacy. They need to work out the bugs in the laws before they shoot them out. They need to think of laws that aren't going to be so easily abused and maybe people will be in favor of them.

Looks like those crazy douchebag wankers are at it again! Aren't there plugins for Chrome and Firefox that encrypt or scramble personal information (like emails) after a set amount of time?

Not sure if it's off topic. But, in the bill. If it were to pass, we wouldn't be able to sue companies. But, it does not state that we cannot sue the person who originally created CISPA.

I don't believe the internet should have any kind of policing. If someone posts a gore shock video of some neo-nazis cutting someone's head off *shivers* then it can only help investigators figure out who the people in the video were. If someone is abusing children and uploading the videos to the internet then the police can use the videos as evidence against the pedophile.

But mehh just my opinions.

The internet is the world's way to connect, why is it that politicians want to set limits on what we can and can't do on it?

Because, this is the government we're talking about. Since when do they do anything for the benefit of the citizens? As far as I'm concerned, it'll be a cold day in hell before Congress does anything beneficial for the United States.

House passes CISPA and is on It's way to the Senate. Barry Soetoro, AKA Barack Hussein Obama has announced he will veto this just like he said he would veto the NDAA…. then signed it into law during new years while the country/world was still drunk/hungover.

People seem to forget this, so it's worth repeating: the National Defense Authorization Act was more than just that one controversial clause (thrown in by several Republican congressmen during negotiations for an election year weapon). Since the President does not have a line item veto (it's an all or nothing deal), it was either sign the bill with that clause or leave the nation's military (including the men and women deployed overseas) without any monetary support whatsoever; Obama took the lesser or two evils. It's also worth mentioning that, in his signing statement, Barrack Obama condemned that portion of the bill and explicitly ordered the Executive Department not to enforce it; that holds true as long as he holds office.

Do you think that one clause violates our rights as citizens? Good, join the club. If you want to do something about it, we have an election coming up; vote in candidates who oppose it and encourage them to create legislation to nullify it. Just moaning about the damn thing accomplishes nothing.
