Hi,

I'd like to know if using my own header (from one of my cartridges) and editing it for my ROMS is more reliable than using public headers to avoid bans. ;)

Thanks :)

Man where are those tutorial threads when you need them. I don't have the full answer but basically there's a program you download that can extract headers and inject them. You'd pull one out of a retail game you dumped with your gateway, modify it to be a certain size (some games are 1gb, 2gb, 4gb), and then inject it into a blank rom. The details someone else will have to provide.

Hi,

I'd like to know if I can make a header with one of my cartridges and edit it to use it with different ROMS ?
I ask because I saw that using public header can make ban..

Thanks :)

You dont need to edit anything. Just copy your game, extract header and inject it to another rom.

I'd like to know if using my own header is more safe that using public one (to play online) :)

Thanks guys, but it seems that using public header can make ban

The answer is......we do't know at this time nothing is confirmed....HOWEVER if possible you might as well use your own.

Recommended way to play 3DS backups online in order of best to worst:
  1. Playing games installed from CIA ---> safest method for playing games online because there is no header.
  2. Using your own private header(s) from game(s) you've dumped ---> presumably safe as long as the header makes sense and no one else has it.
  3. Using a public header ---> Pretty stupid, since Nintendo could presumably ban these with ease.

Ok thanks man, I'll use 2nd way because using CIA is too hard (there aren't all games and conversion is hard and too long)

Really?
So if (per example) original game's size is 1GB and I want to put him header on a 2GB game, it will fix automatically?

Yes the program will say something like "hey this doesn't match can we fix?" Click yes and it will fix it for you.

just as likely nintendo could ban people playing eshop titles that are not linked to their NNID, in fact i imagine it would be much easier for them to just check if you have bought the game, all the banning stuff is still fairly speculative, no real evidence to prove why anyone is having errors connecting....is it possible they are checking headers....sure, but its just as likely they are looking for people playing out of region games or stuff like that, until we have more examples and more info of what exactly each user has been up to on their 3ds all everyone is doing is making guesses....yeah logically using a private header is better than a public header, but other than that, nobody knows exactly what nintendo is up to
