Where can i get information on the scene, so far all i found was on RetroArch, are there other Dev's out there trying to port to the WiiU or not? just looking for a simple answer. Wouldnt mind having my WiiU a 1 stop Emulation Station lol.

We'll need to wait till someone writes a PPC dynarec (dynamic recompilier) core for the Wii U. At the time of writing, there is no ETA.
I'm pretty sure that it will not come as a RetroArch's core, perhaps in form of an independient emulator (?
In the 3DS RetroArch they didn't archive a proper SNES emulation on o3DS, but was an unknow dev @bubble2k16 which gave us a good SNES emulator for o3DS, my guess is if a good psx/n64/DC emulator comes to wiiu, it will come from a unknow developer, pretty sure of that.

I don't know, I'm not holding my breath, no one seems to be interested in optimizing or writing a PPC core for the more complex emulators >.>

*yet...
But you are right, is better to not get hyped for >4th gen emulators for wiiu, since none of them are currently being worked on.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also, someone who I know is interested in emulation is @brienj , he have done 2 nice emulators for the wiiu :p

I would only call one of them nice, one was made kind of as a joke. And the nice one, I just added Super CHIP-8 emulation, multiple controller support, and the buzzer to it, the core of it was done by @rw-r-r_0644 . Since libretro cores have been made for Wii U, I've kind of lost interest in making any more.

That is understandle, thanks for the reply :)

Thanks for the reply's . It's kinda disappointing tough, the ps1 had great rpg's I want to visit and yeah I could just use my PC, but sitting on the couch or laying in bed while playing a game is better lol. Well let's all hope someone out there is doing something because I think it would be great. As far as n64 most of them work already and whatever isn't there usually works on "not64". Dreamcast is actually something I never played.

What do you expect for a console that was just only up to a couple of months ago, opened up to emulation? It isn't simple, the Wii U uses quite the painful architecture to port for.

I'm quite aware of this, I may not know how to make a emulator but I know some coding languages and I know it takes allot of effort. And if I remember correctly the reason why the Wiiu didn't have many 3rd party support was due to the architecture right?

About the 3rd party support nope, they didn't make games for the wiiu because it doesn't use the "standard" architecture from the competitors, companies did a lot of games for power PC before, but since the standard on the current gen is x84 instead PPC, they don't want to waste time to port games designed for x84 to PPC.

About PPC Dynarec on wiiu, there is simply no insterest to do it, even there is no interest for other devs/hackers on the wiiu itself, as smea's crew stated on 33c3, they are not interested on wiiu anymore and they will move to the Switch.

Among other numerous issues, yes.

So we should give up on ever seeing DS, PSP, PSX, etc, yes? Because that's what you're implying, and the Switch, we don't even know how easily hacked it will be. No point in having hope, gotcha.

Idk, as I mentioned before, dynarec probably will come from a unknow dev, but that is a kind of miracle as happened with snes9x for o3ds (if ever happens on wiiu). About smea's crew, well.. they just spend like a couple of months on the wiiu and they got a working iosu exploit with rednand + coldboothax + homebrew packaging, if they get something for the Switch on the next 33c3, I'd not be surprised at all.

I'd best not hold my breath or get my hopes up then, no sense in anyone really doing so *shrug*
