Seriously there's so much wrong with the Vita design I don't know where to start... Is it really even a portable? It's not going to fit in any pocket and the battery will last you like 2 hours if you want good brightness and online. On top of that you're going to see a lot of games that are ported from consoles - they're not designed to be fun in short bursts, and you usually can't even save that often. Nothing but fail from every company in the last 6 years...
You know, I don't care if games are ported. I don't have time to play on a home console. I'm dying to play these 'ports' on a portable. DYING. Call me pathetic I don't care, but I simply don't have the time.

Vita won't fit in your pocket? I bet less than 20% of portable gamers place their consoles in their pockets ever since smartphones smashed the market. Know whats a pouch, a carrier?

Battery life? I wonder who even plays for that long. 4 hours is wayyy enough for a one shot gaming experience.

Not portable you say?

Also, I find when you're on the go, you can just bring a backpack or something and throw that in a pocket. When the Vita was announced at E3 then had people just taking it out of their pockets (they did when the Bioshock guys were talking about a Bioshock Vita and when they demoed SFxT).

I need online when I'm on the go? I guess the world is one big WiFi connection. Yes, the 3G is pretty stupid.

I like how brought that up (the thing in the pic which isn't necessary) even tho he dis every company.

Anyway, I do like to have my portables handhelds pocketable.

What the psv size compare to the xl again?

Random thought. The thing that I like about the clam(?) design, is it protect the buttons better.

That a crazy guess, which imo is most likely wrong. So I should be made to carrying more things, is that what you saying?
I'm just saying btw. I think the psv will fit in my pocket, but idk about putting a case on it.

@bold Now was that your opinion when the 3DS came out.

Now goes off looking for a pic of the psv extra battery pack and post it randomly in a 3DS thread.

The attachment is, again, optional.
The 3G is dumb, I agree. What will it be used for anyways?
EDIT: And its strange to me that the iPod is even considered "competition".

I admit I used to say that 3 - 5 hours is hell short. But after playing it, I find that it is more than enough. Ever since, I did not say bad about the 3DS battery anymore.

Each console has their pro and cons.

not everywhere has free wifi y'know. where i live is one. and here 3G>free wifi.
so it's not entirely dumb, there are just places that will benefit, and some places that don't.
that's why they made it optional.

i just hope that the browser/online games will be worth it.

Just telling you in case you are unaware, the 3G cannot be used for online multiplayer.

EDIT: And its strange to me that the iPod is even considered "competition".

I just find it funny that people like to bash the PSV for not being "portable" or "pocketable" (even though people were PULLING IT OUT OF THEIR POCKETS AT E3) when Nintendo releases a butt-ugly and chunky attachment that is almost the complete opposite of being "portable".

Really though, the only handheld that I've found to be "pocketable" comfortably is the PSP Go. I'm not being any PSP fanboy over here, it's just thin and small. Usually other handhelds are just too fat or too long. For me, "pocketable" means I can fit it in my pocket without it sticking out like a tumor on my thigh.

The 3G will probably just keep you connected to the PSN so you can update trophies and stuff, and there's a few games based on a whole "social" aspect that may use it. Think of like some of the 3DS's StreetPass functions, but now just with 3G instead of local passing. That's my guess though, not fact.

Eh, you'd be surprised. iPhones and other smartphones are in almost every pocket. It's easier to develop for them, cheaper to sell for them, and more people buy for them than for a 3DS or Vita. And I'd be wrong if I wrote off every iPhone game as "garbage". I've spent way too much time on Peggle and Critter Crunch.

No all iPhone games (generally) are garbage since their are (most of the time)
superior counterparts on other devices.

No, no they're not all the time. Pretty much all the PopCap games are best on the iPhone (better graphics, they're meant for a touchscreen, etc). There are plenty of decent iPhone exclusive games. I'm generally not a fan of boring garbage like Angry Birds but to say the entire library of iPhone games is bad is just ignorant.

I suggest you watch this. I've been referencing Yahtzee a lot but he has some good points.

EDIT: Also, NSFW.

EDIT2: As per the whole "IT'S OPTIONAL", I'll keep referencing the attachment if people keep saying the Vita is unpocketable because it fucking is. I'm not saying this on some rogue statement, I've seen people pocket it. Unless you're wearing girl jeans or enjoy pants that make you sterile, it should fit in your pocket. If not, it usually fits in a bag or something. I go to school, I bring a bag. You go to work, you bring something to hold your work stuff. You go on vacation, you bring bags or a suitcase. You're going anywhere else, put it in your pocket.

Yahtzee talk about everything, not only that, the way he talk about everything is actually annoying.

Which I didn't see how you take him so seriously or even take him as your top opinions source.

Why are so angry(?) about the unpocketable thing? In general the psv may not be pocketable, especially when some say even the 3ds isn't
pocketable.

Don't want to have to carry a bag to carry my portable. You say put in your bags going to work or school, but I didn't
feel like it is safe to carry the portable like that anyway.

You can reference that optional attachment all you want(just like the battery attachment which would make the psv even bigger), doesn't stop the fact it is optional. Not only that, the way it is design,(as a controller to a home console) I didn't think they expect you to carry it around.

Also the 3DS may still be smaller (in width) then the psv even with the attachment.

Just because I can move my TV around, doesn't mean I'm going to call it a portable.

I'll only do serious gaming on a phone when one look like/design like a portable. ie. psv or 3ds.
With good support.

Xperia play isn't close enough.

Phone games that come close to good, aren't .99. If they get to the point $30 to 40 to make a good phone game then you matter well go to
the portables.

HOLY- It's bigger than a DSiXL???? And I thought that was big...

One look at the damned device and it's immediately apparent that it isn't easily pocketable. If you have ridiculously deep pockets, then sure you'll be able to put it in your pocket, but for the average joe, it just won't fit. If the DSi XL hardly fits in most people's pocket, what do you expect with the PS Vita?

And I'm going to say it again, the extra analog stick is optional. Most people aren't going to carry it with them when going places. It's silly to bring it up when it isn't needed to operate the device. If you're going to mention that, then we might as well bring up the battery pack (like KingVamp said) and every other damn accessory that increases the size of the system.

SURPRISESURPRISE: The original PSP is bigger too.

I don't care about the size very much. I can sure say that this looks more comfortable to hold than that square brick we call the 3DS.

Also, why is the iPhone even included here? iPhone games are way different from games for actual game systems. I don't think that phones and handheld gaming systems are similar enough to even be compared

Comfortable to hold: yes.
But to Pocket?: NO

Ha, yeah. I suppose. Call me crazy, but I don't usually even carry my systems in my pockets because I don't take them many places. If I do put them in my pocket, I usually have a hoodie on with big pockets in it anyway

Tnx, nice pic. Those buttons don't really look that solid and quality.... Hopefully they feel different. I want the Vita but I'm thinking of just waiting for the inevitable revision. By then the PSV homebrew community will have developed a lot more and it'll be much clearer which models can be hacked and how you should do it.
