When I hook my PSP up to my computer and try to put it into USB mode, it just keeps switching between "Please wait..." and "USB mode".

After a minute it settles on USB mode, then when I click on it "There is no disc in drive G" or "I/O device error"

Oh and its a 1001.

What do?

Turn off USB charging, check the connection, get a new USB lead, change USB mode to something else (like flash3 (totally safe) or umd), etc.

I know the cable is good as it works wither other stuff, USB on computer is good.

How do I change USB mode to something else?
This PSP is on OFW 3.5 trying to get 5.3 on it.

Has it ever worked? When did it stop working? Have you tried alternative Memory Sticks?

PSP 1000's don't have USB charging....

It works for a few seconds every now and then, but not long enough to do anything.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
