Hardware PSP Screen Messing Up

After picking up my dads PSP after I'd say almost 2 years of no use, hacking it and playing it about 2 hours
I'm getting these vertical lines about ||

The distortion is two lines next to each other near the left. Distortion can be seen in the speaker icon.
Fading lines throughout.

Looks like it something just got into the screen.

Okay so I've decided to buy a new replacement screen for this PSP 2000.
I was wondering if it's possible to replace it with a PSP 3000 screen (super extremely doubt it) and if it would make a difference. I heard the 3000 has a better screen?
