Gaming PSP problem- Freezing

Recently whenever I play a game off of the memory card it freezes. In dissidia it freezes whenever I unlock a new story like inward chaos. It also freezes after I put the psp into sleep mode and turn it back on. Could it be the firmware Gen 5.50-D3 or is my psp dying.

It could be your memory card, have you tired formatting it?

I formatted it after it froze, but it this never happened before I updated to D3. I'm not hating on GEN, but could this be a bug that peple were talking about?

The bug people was talking about is how saves become corrupt when updated.
Are you sure its not your memory stick?
Is it fake?

It's a legit stick, I got it from best buy and it's been working fine.
I'm gonna format it again
SHould I use the PSP to format it?

You should use your PSP to format it.
Options > System settings > Format

Okay, i just wasn't sure if there was some kind of program I could use, similar to the panasonic sd formatter.
