Does anyone know of any PSP homebrew that lets you browse files shared over a wifi network? I just got myself a NAS drive and have set up a Samba share over the network which my Wii etc. can access - would be great if I could do the same with the PSP!

Thanks in advance,
Rich

He means like a media server to stream or copy files to this PSP!

what you need is PIMPSTREAMER link

read how to here

you can also stream from your PS3 If you have one using REMOTE PLAY

Thanks Kobykaan (and Salamandra!). I've tried Pimpstreamer and its great but what I'm really after is something that lets you access the files without having to stream them from a PC (i.e. the PC doesn't even have to be on).

Not sure if there is anything that does this but if anyone knows different please let me know - failing that an FTP client would be cool.

i'm pretty sure there's no samba client for the PSP

I'm 99% positive that there's an FTP client

Yes there is its called PSPftp client oddly enough

Although you would have to have the server side of the ftp client running on the the nas drive for it to be able to connect to like you would connecting a PC

I do know that you can set your PS3 up as a media centre and remove play access its hard drive and stream media from the PS3 drive to your PSP ANYWHERE in the world that has internet access for the psp to connect to so long as your PS3 is on and connected online

get a PS3 or ....keep looking lol sorry I cannot help you more

... unless the nas drive can be set up as an FTP server with a DNS address etc ...then you may not be able to access the drive

Thanks for the replies. Haven't been able to get the pspftp thing to work as think its only works on v1.5 firmware (its very old!). Oh well, will keep looking.

Cheers,
Rich

zx-81 brings up his PSP-FTPD homebrew to version 0.5.0. For those of you who are encountering this app for the first time, this is a simple FTP server for your PSP, which allows you to send and retrieve files or complete directories to and from your PSP.

The best part is that you don't need any cables to do it. Instead, you just need your Wireless connection (WiFi), with a FTP client on your PC, ie. Filezilla, and you're good to go. This particular version has been tested with gFtp on Linux, on both Phat and Slim, with cfw 4.01 m33-2.

Here are the new features of this new version:

* Improve speed transfert
* (tested at home with 500k for download, 250k for upload)
* Tested on PSP slim with fw4x-m33
* New graphics for EBOOT & background
* Add music for EBOOT
* Bug fix in battery status display
http://pspupdates.qj.net/PSP-Homebrew-PSP-...g/49/aid/124540

Should run fine on latest CFW, I think ... It's still slow though, USB would go a lot faster. I guess browser/pimpstreamer etc doesn't do it for you? What do you actually want/aiming for?
