Gaming psp help

i was using Skyline969's CHA CFW Installer Full.exe installer when i ran into a problem at step 1.

I installed filmware version 5.03 right
then i went to step 1.

1.Go to pictures, let the 3 image thumbnails and the preview for the mhuspeed3 folder load

but when i clicked on that folder my psp freezes and turns off, is that supposed to happen, also it said there was corrupt data in one of the files like pspident, do i delete all of the installer files and start again, or something else, what should i do....sorry that i sound like a noob i just want to brick my psp or anything.

You have to keep trying until some colours flash and reboots into ChickHen mode.

Edit: Oh, and some advice given off some other post I read: Open the folder and scroll right down to the bottom. Repeat as necessary.

when you say colors do you mean a tv kinda of haze
if it freezes then restarts without me having to manually turn it on am i good?
Also what about that corrupted data stuff?

Check your firmware version, see if it worked.

Also, make sure homebrew is in PSP/GAME folder.
With the EBOOT.PBP in a folder itself.

So its like this PSP/GAME/PSPIDENT > EBOOT.PBP

yeah you're good, now try not to switch it off until a week or so... check ur firmware it shud be sumthing like 5.03 speed 3 or sumthing. and about the corrputed data its because your psp wasn't homebrew enabled mode, now check it should work..

Ok so let me get this straight, i keep on trying till it turns off and then on again and it says corrupted data because im not on chikHEN or some other firmware yet?

Get your PSP version
Settings > System Settings > System Information (I think)

It should say something other then just 5.03

ok i found out the reason why i was messing up i think; it said
"let the the 3 image thumbnails and the preview for the mhuspeed3 folder load"
then it said "mhuspeed3 and let the images load. Don’t touch anything."
i was toughing stuff when i wasn't supposed to...
then it said unless it reloads keep on doing it, i face palmed myself like 10 times

EDIT: i got it to go into MHUSpeed thank you for helping

EDIT2: i got a TA-088 v1/v2 motherboard model

new problem...

I went to games, and to memory stick
i didn't see the option select 5.50 GEN-D3 installer
is it supposed to be in the hellcat’s recovery flasher 1.6 or is it supposed to be the option at the bottom of games>memory stick>bottom(it says corrupted)

2. CHeck you have 550.pbp in the root and that the hierarchy for the installer file is PSP\Game\Update\Eboot.pbp

1.i need to get into chickHEn mode because i forgot that i turned off my psp :facepalm:
2.i got that right

EDIT:If i let the thumbnails load and dont click on them and go straight to mhuspeed3 it go's to a red screen is that supposed to happen, should i look/load the thumbnails?

I checked the memory stick and i can't get into HEN it say's

"Error: Incompatible firmware. Only 5.03 is supported."

So what do i do now i can't get into GEN-D3 without downgrading and that would defeat the purpose because my psp would turn off when i upgrade not allowing me to have HEN any other idea's?


EDIT:i had to delete the "update" folder and rename GEN-D3 folder update
