I've read that the newest E1000 come firmware too new to be hackable. Is that true?

Also, what about this (somwhere else on this forum)

To be honest, I'd recommend you to buy the E1000 model if you don't care about ad-hoc or online mode, but if you care about that shit, then stay away from it. Also, this has Mono sound, so keep this in mind just in case you don't like Mono sound.

Personally, it's a good model. My main reason for buying it was because it has a Matte feel, but it had more to offer other than the Matte feel such as the good new looking buttons.

What I also recommend is that you shouldn't listen to people's recommendations here and actually go with what you like, it's that what matters. If you're not so sure, go to a shop and try one and see how it goes.

No problems here with the E1000, it does what i want it to do, and you have your answer to your question with the other replies.

It can run backups but its better just to invest that money in an older model since the E1000 lacks alot of the good features that the older ones has.

Im planning on buying a E1000, but was wondering if it can run backups?
Stay away from E1000. Buy a used console instead. Any model is better than E1000.
This. Just buy an older model its definitely is better than the E1000.

Please explain the features that it's lacking please? I know it lacks wifi and it has a mono sound, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't get it since some don't give a crap about online mode and such which means getting the other models is pretty pointless for him when he can get a cheaper model and save some money.

I have PSP E1000 model and I also own PSP 2000, it does what the PSP 2000 does without wifi.

I rather have an E1000 over the original PSP any day. If it's hacked, I won't need a UMD slot and I doubt anyone really plays PSP games online anymore, or cherishes them, rather. Also, the E1000 looks a thousand times better than the other models. A whole thousand.

Just saying, but you might need Wi-Fi at some point. :P

Do people use the PSP Wi-fi when not playing against other players though? I have never seen anyone use Skype/Internet on their PSP. The only use I'd say would be the PSN store, but even then if you are intending to hack the system you can ignore that too

Well, if you're into homebrew games/apps, then you could use the Homebrew Broswer, which requires an internet connection.

All other PSP models are pretty much cheaper than the E1000 in most stores anyway so getting an older model is better also chances are they will be on lower firmware which is better and like what you listed it also lacks Ad Hoc which to me is much more important than Wifi (cause there is little use for it) and some games are just more fun when playing with friends.

If he doesn't have any friends to play on Ad Hoc with then sure get the E1000 but at the moment in alot of stores you can get a pre-owned PSP console with lower firmware and i'm pretty sure you can't have permanent 6.60CFW for the E1000, bricking and all that.

I've had a hacked PSP Slim for 3 years. I have never touched WiFi. Ever. Not even to check out the clunky official web browser. I've got an iPhone for that.

Not all homebrew apps/games require WiFi. In fact, the homebrew apps that do are largely unnecessary. At the top of my head, the apps that do are PSPmaps, homebrew browsers and PSPtube, all functions already served by my phone which performs far better than my PSP.

By and large, having WiFi for a hacked PSP is incredibly unnecessary. While the homebrew apps that require WiFi are pretty nifty, they are completely unnecessary if all you want to do is play some ISOs.

The only reason why you would ever use WiFi on a PSP would be to use Ad Hoc Party or play online. But then again, not many people actually do play online other than Socom or Monster Hunter. Most that do use cheats, but it's all up to you I guess.

Anyway at the end of the day it's preference. Some people like the 3000 series, some like the GOs and some like the E1000. At the end of the day they should all play backups as long as you have the right Firmware installed, to answer the OPs question.

Just follow the guide Rydian has done up and you should be good as gold
