Hacking Psp 3001c softmod

I bought this second hand at 20 bucks.

I read a few of the sticky's on how to mod and i'm totaly lost.

this is the first time for me even holding a psp in my hands. I have moded things in the past, hard moded and soft moded ps2, softmoded wiis, and flashcarts for ds.

Where do i begin?

Where do you get confused? First thing you should do is to update to 6.39, run the 6.39 PRO Update and read what it says in the System info.

If you are not yet on 6.39...

Download 6.39 official firmware (for PSP 100X/200X/300X) or (for PSP Go).
Place the UPDATE folder into /PSP/GAME/ on your memory stick (or the Go's internal storage).
Run the 6.39 update on your PSP and allow it to install.


Now to install the hack!

Download 6.39 PRO-B7
Copy the 639PROUpdate and 639FastRecovery folders to /PSP/GAME/ on your memory stick (or Go's internal storage).
Run 6.39 PRO-B Updater on your PSP, and press X to install.
Your PSP should restart into hacked mode. This will last until your PSP is shut fully off (sleep mode is okay). To hack it again quickly, run the Fast Recovery to get back into 6.39 PRO.

When you're done, you can delete the update off of your memory stick, since the hack is stored on the PSP itself and you only need to keep the fast recovery to re-activate it when needed.



Just that steep, upgrade to 6.39, then Download 6.39 PRO-B7 and run it from the psp?

if you follow those directions correctly, you should have no problems

ok, i guess i looked to deep into it, this mod is loaded into the ram right. gotta waite to try it anyway because only got a 32mb stick.

just checked my psp 3001, its a 4g. already did the temp hack. been told i can do a perm hack. what do you guys suggest.

I just downgraded my 04g PSP 3001 from 6.39PRO to 6.20PRO just a couple hours ago, while following this guide

perm vs temp. from what i have been reading there is really no difference, just that one you gotta rehack again and the other you do. so the only real difference is a matter of 5 seconds or so from a hard boot.
right now its on the temp hack. Is it worth doing a perm hack? How is psx/ps1 compatible>?
