Hardware PSP 3001 Compatible Batteries

I found a psp 3001 awhile back. Which was awesome. Problem is it has no battery, or anything else. I can't seem to find a battery to order specifically for the 3001 and have seen some unfortunate comments from people ordering a battery off amazon that says is compatible with so many models but didn't work on a 3001.

Also anyone know where to get em cheap?

dealextreme has genuine ones for 10-15 bucks iirc.

would a psp 1000 battery work at all?

the 1000 battery is thicker than the ones for the slim psp's so it would probably work if you don't mind strapping it with some duck tape

I exclusively use PSP 1000 batteries in my 2000's (having bought the alternative battery cover). Using the bigger battery gives you a couple of hours more life meaning i've practically never used the batteries my 2000's came with.
