PSP-3000 pre-orders at Amazon cancelled!

This could not have come at a worse time. This will really hurt PSP sales this Christmas. But at least Sony is doing the right thing. I wish I could say the same for other companies and their defective products.

Thirded!! Their "advanced" screen didn't do much more than cause many people problems and a recall will just further those problems...

But for all of those who purchased one, I really do hope Sony works things out.

It has interlacing issues that lead to very noticeable horizontal lines appearing across the screen.

This is not good news in general. Without a new PSP, the chances of game developers making new PSP games or porting over current games from PS3 are much lower. No developers wants to spend resources on a dying platform. If the PSP3000 is having a problem, it could spell the end of us(PSP Phat and PSP Slim owners) getting newer and better games as well.

I doubt it. PSP still has a big fanbase--maybe not as big as DS, but big enough. and the 3000 wasn't new technology, just an updated presentation of the same thing with an "improved advanced" display on the screen. (LOL)

At heart its the same machine as the PSP 1000. There will still be a few dozen more games, I'm guessing for PSP users. If nothing else you've got a handy emulation device,
