Hardware PSP 1001 umd drive HELP!!!!!!!!!&#

Okay I got a PSP from my friend and the umd drive doesnt work. When ever I turn it on the umd drive laser clicks and the spindle spins sometimes and I tried playing a umd and it doesnt play it just gives my an error. Also by the way I cant see the error because my screen is broken. Anyways the laser always goes to the sides and it only worked once because I opened the drive and put my umd in and it worked but now its but to its normal self. Please help me and if you say I need a new umd drive. Please if you know a site that has low umd drive pricing tell me please.

Hack it so you wont have to spend the money on a new UMD tray
