Hacking PSFreedom iTouch?

I noticed that PSFreedom works on the iPod Touch 1g, so I installed it on my iPod last night, but I have a few questions before I use the JB on my PS3.
I wanted to know if it can run backups? Some people say it can, and others say it can't...
Also, what are the differences between PSFreedom and all the other JB things?
Can I 'uninstall' PSFreedom?
