best way may be to eject the drive, format it on pc, then plug it back in. or, you could try initialize with having to reinstall system software.

I'm initialize PS4 now although it take time.

Reformat or reinitialize before you go back online and you be fine.

Formatting on the system might be a waste of time. Remove disk, insert in sata station, format, reinsert, install recovery update. I've done this before. I used my sata station today after removing my parents' ssd to get their turbo tax from a dead laptop.

I wiped the hdd and gave the ps4 to my cousin last year, so far it seems fine.
