question, can a modified PS4 read video files? because I think I read around that for this you should download a media server, but then Sony makes you update the console firmware, and they would screw the modification....

Yes,it can,the app "Player" can read numerous files formats.

The official app called Media Player? That app is garbage.

PPlay is my go-to media player app on PS4 and probably on PS5 when it's hackable for me (mine's on 7.00).

last time I tried that it wouldn't display properly when the PS4 was set to output at 720p

has he fixed that or not?
