can anyone please tell me how can i build Delta patch with orbis-pub-gen
and yes i know about PS4 Patch Builder
but i want to be able to make one with orbis-pub-gen

Thanks

you need the base pkg, then you can have only the files you need/that are updated. there's about 10 files that are unneeded, all in the sce_sys folder, so don't keep them. this is going at it without a gp4. it will error if the file is supposed to be created by orbis, so be aware of that.

btw, make the param.sfo with its exe, make it a patch, and if you do it right in orbis-pub-gen, it will be read as a patch. I made the smallest patch possible, a fake one, with app version 99.99, and the game worked. I posted a photo of it in @KiiWii 's thread.

sorry to ask but what is the function of the delta patch? I haven't hacked the ps4 until now on 9.00
afaik, a delta package is the bare minimum a patch can be with only the files that are updated as part of it, not nonessentials.

btw, ignore the changelog xml file. it will give you a warning, but it's not needed for a patch.

i'm sorry i didnt get that i have the base pkg and the update pkg but theres no option to choose delta patch how exactly this is done

you could extract the update, I guess. I've never made a delta patch from an update pkg. you can do that orbis-pub-chk. all files in the sc0 partition go in the sce_sys folder. they're what can be read by the system without needing a passcode.

i already did and and build the whole patch with the modded files just wanted to know how to make delta patches from the patch pkg theres no option for delta patch

I don't think you can from a patch pkg without doing it manually. I don't know if there is a way. I was never able to make a fake pkg using a gp4, I had to do it manually, or the param.sfo got screwed up.

thanks for the help i will figure it out eventually but why theres no guides or any info about delta patches online
and the new tools work pretty good for me

EDIT: Idiot me i just figure it to enable Delta Patch build
you only need to bump the patch to higher version and add the existing patch

@chrisrlink , I think delta patches are named after the delta log that's created when you manipulate a gp4, which is the easiest way to make an fpkg, but there's a bug where if the app and master version (v) are not 1.00 or 0100 basically, it won't be able to find the base pkg. it only affects updates, and only certain games, so some uploaders have resorted to putting the base and update together in one pkg, but there's a better way. you'll get a delta log that mentions all files in the pkg if you do it this way.

here's that pseudo-delta patch I made of axiom verge, only because it was one of my smallest games, I only included the modules and eboot, game worked:

I think the parental controls is wrong from the actual game, but the default is level 1 apparently.

could make for some really small backports without having to download gigabytes worth of data.

btw, when you make the param.sfo using its exe in orbis, it will make the master version change regardless of what you input in the app version. I don't know why this is, but the master version will be the app version. you can correct it by creating a patch pkg manually without a gp4. I've tried this and that axiom verge was named A9999 afterwards when I created the pkg. haha
